Annual Law Day Weiner Roast

President Dwight D. Eisenhower designated May 1 as Law Day – a celebration of the importance of the “rule of law” in the U.S. Since 2001, Weiner, Spivey & Miller has hosted the Annual Law Day Weiner Roast to raise funds for the pro bono programs of the Fairfax Law Foundation. These programs support the Foundation’s motto of “Equal Justice For All” and include: Wills on Wheels (low/no cost services to the elderly); Court Tours (where 8^th graders learn about the legal system and sit through a trial); and the Public Law Library (which is open to the public).

More than 750 attorneys, judges and community members from across Virginia and the Metro area gather at our offices to celebrate our democracy over hot dogs, root beer floats and popcorn. Other highlights include the Presentation of the Colors by an American Legion Honor Guard, escorted by colonial fife and drum; live music by the 20-piece George Mason University Jazz Ensemble; performances from the award-winning Boyle School of Irish Dance; and an old-fashioned shoe-shine stand. Our Annual Law Day Weiner Roast has received awards from both the Virginia State Bar and the American Bar Association.
